Last week we were invited by the vice president of Camosun College to attend an event at Ferris’ Oyster Bar to celebrate Camosun College’s 50th anniversary! Camosun, as lovely and generous as the administration there are, also used this opportunity to honour and celebrate Victoria’s restaurants getting back on their feet after a very difficult past year and a half.

It was a very special and beautiful evening with door prizes, trivia, and good food. The president and vice president of Camosun were present and some of the chefs serving us were Camosun alumni. Congrats to Camosun and all those who make this an excellent institution to study at!

We are thrilled to introduce you all to the newest addition to our family, our daughter, Nicolia's, new puppy, Zucchini! He is a border collie/golden retriever/labrador mix and is incredibly sweet, laid back, and adventurous. He already is great at sitting, laying down, shaking a paw, and is starting to learn to heel quite well. 

Nicolia and Zucchini are currently staying with her friends and their new puppy, Totoro, in the Kootenays so we have not actually got to meet him yet, but we are so excited! He is going to be a fantastic pup to cuddle with, to take on long walks and hikes, and to go swimming with. 

Today (July 29th) was my first game back at lawn bowling in well over a year and I am stoked for the season to continue. Today I managed to get plenty of points for my team. If you check out the photo below, the red ball near the jack was mine! Further, tonight I got to go to a workshop to train to move my position up from lead to third! I am actually pretty proud of this because I actually had to apply to go attend it and I got approved! Go me!

The Oak Bay Club, where I lawn bowl, has very good safety procedures and I know they would only open things up again if they feel sure they can keep everyone happy and healthy. I love being a part of this club and I love getting to see all the awesome people again.

“Today my BFF (who also happens to be my sister) got her second vaccine at THE SAME TIME as me! She is all the way in Toronto and I miss her soooo much. It was pure coincidence that she sent me a photo of herself getting her shot while I was in the chair getting my shot!” - says Rosemarie

Do you ever find you are accidentally totally in sync with someone you love, even when you are thousands of kilometres apart?

Our youngest daughter, Rhea, married the lovely and kind Kevin last Saturday. We had spent many days and hours poring into multiple versions of this event and finally were able to have a beautiful, intimate, and very, very fun celebration for the two of them up at Two Eagles Lodge in the Comox Valley.

Everyone from the photographer, videographer, caterer, and of course all the family members and friends who helped plan it were fantastic.

We are just so happy that Rhea is so happy and so blessed that Kevin is now our son.
