National Siblings Day, 2018The older we get the more important it is for us to stay connected with the ones we love.
I'm close to my siblings and miss them always as they all live in Ontario. I was born and raised in Toronto and moved to Victoria with Tom in 1987. We try to go home and see family a couple of times a year.
I have three sisters and one brother. The order of the siblings goes as follows: Janet, Denise, Allan, Barbara and then me, Rosemarie.
![]() As for Tom he is the second oldest. He has one sister and two brothers. The oldest is his brother Jim and he lives in Mississauga, Ontario (a suburb of the Greater Toronto area). His sister Jane, she is younger than Tom, lives in Toronto. And Tom's youngest brother, Robert, lives in China with his wife and family.

Easter Egg BattleOur assistant Genia shared with us a fun Easter tradition that she celebrated growing up in Russia. Instead of an 'Easter Egg Hunt', Russians celebrate with an 'Easter Egg Battle'.
First, the eggs are boiled and decorated: you can use stickers or edible food colouring or even make your own paints using fresh produce like beets, strawberries, etc. (the eggs will be eaten later on, so make sure to use safe materials).
Once your eggs are boiled and decorated it's time to have some fun. You and your Easter opponent select a 'champion' egg and once picked, you each bang their tops together and the first egg that cracks loses and needs to be eaten by the loser right away. The winning egg goes against the next opponent until the ultimate egg champion is chosen!
Warning, be ready to eat a lot of eggs. Depending on your luck eggs might end up being your breakfast, lunch and dinner, unless you stop playing. It's a fun family tradition and a healthy alternative to chocolate.
If you have family or friends who might be interested in this tradition as well you can bring your family's final champion egg against your friend's family egg and fight for the title of the ultimate egg champion. P.S. The colourful cakes on the pictures are called Kulich. Kulich is a traditional Easter bread baked and eaten on Easter holidays. And yes, they taste as good as they look! :)
Thank you to Dmitry Stavitsky for the photos. Westshore Women's Business Network workshop with Steve Dotto
Had a great time at Westshore Women's Business Network Workshop with Steve Dotto. It was fun to see everyone and network today. Today’s speaker, Steve, was fantastic and very dynamic. He talked about the value of vlogging and videos in this quickly changing digital age.
Steve Dotto is Canada's most respected geek. For over 15 years, as host and executive producer of Dotto Tech, a nationally syndicated TV show, Steve entertained and educated millions of Canadians on all aspects of technology. What a great event and great women!
We were also able to raise money for Victoria Soroptimists at today’s event! I’m very proud to be a part of such a great group of people
P.S. Here is my first vlog ever :)
Victoria Royals vs Spokane ChiefsThis Wednsday night we watched a very fun game between Victoria Royals and Spokane Chiefs. Although our team lost 5-2, they played well against a strong team from Spokane. Many thanks to our fun Mortgage Broker associate Colleen Flynn for inviting us to her private viewing suite for great food and fun! It's always more fun to watch hockey with friends.
International Women's Day 2018Happy International Women's Day!
Adventures in Vancouver
Every time I go to Vancouver I like to go to Bosa, this Italian deli and grocery store.
This time, my daughter Nicolia told me they moved back to Victoria St. and had built a larger store. We ventured over there and WOW, I saw this massive Italian grocery store with all the yumminess in the world.
As a half Italian, raised knowing how good Italian food is and being a foodie myself I felt like I had died and gone to heaven. All these great foods in one store and the prices were so good too! I bought a bag of items that would have cost me around $45 to $50, but I only paid $27.00
Olives - Yum! Deli items- yum Cheese - yum!
