-Easily vacuumed (though stains can be tough)
-More cost effective to put in

Benefits to hardwood:
-Very durable (can last a long time)
-Easy to sweep and damp mop
-Great for allergy sufferers- less likely to trap dust or pet dander
-Can add real estate value
