In recognition of "Administrative Professional Day", April 22nd, Rosemarie wanted to spoil me and thoughtfully invited me to attend the event: "Flavour of chocolate - Small Plates & Chef Competition" with her, I was flattered as it sounded so
much fun but I had little idea what to expect!.
Fast forward to April 18th, the night of the dinner, I have so much to share with you!
Held at the Bear Mountain Resort, the event was in support of "Soroptimist" - a Victoria Westshore society improving the lives of girls, women and their children locally and throughout the world. It was expertly put together and comprised 5 different Chef Stations, all sharing one savory creation containing chocolate as an ingredient. We had great fun sampling the small plates and voting for our f
avourite. Who would have thought you could make chocolate pasta or create a succulent chicken dish with a spicy chocolate sauce? Then there was the Blonde chocolate with salty maple sea salt...
A silent auction was happening throughout the evening with some fabulous items, Rosemarie and I enjoyed trying our luck on some of the biddings. To top it all off we enjoyed a decadent chocolate dessert which simply melted in your mouth! It was quite wonderful to be part of this 1st Annual Event, to become informed of the incredible support and outreach the "Soroptimists" do for women, locally and worldwide, to mingle with the many interesting guests, to share stories and experiences and to be indulged in such a way!.
Thank you Rosemarie for acknowledging me in my role as your "Administrative Assistant Professional" and a special thanks to Deb Alcadinho for her efforts in making this wonderful event happen.
